AB 100 (Oropeza), (Comm. on Budget Amended 5/28,) Makes appropriations for California government for FY2003-2004.

SB 176 (Johnson), (ASM-Ins. Comm. Amended 4/30, Hearing 7/2) Adds § 11752.9 to the Ins. Code. Requires a rating association to notify policyholders in writing if it changes classification assignment of the policyholder. It may satisfy requirement by simultaneously sending a copy of the notification that is sent to the insurer.

AB 1262 (Matthews), (SEN Labor & IR Comm. -Amended 4/28, Hearing 7/9) Adds Article 5 to Chap 3 Part 3 of Div. 2 of the Ins. Code. Requires the Ins. Commissioner to set minimum stds. For training experience, and skills for claims adjusters and medical bill reviewers and require insurers to certify that their staff meet the criteria.

AB 606 (Liu), (SEN- Labor & IR Comm. Amended 5/13, Hearing 7/9) Adds Labor Code § 78.5 to require the Governor’s Advocate for Small Business and the DIR director or representative to meet with employees and small business owners at least twice/yr. To discuss w/c issues and report to CHSWC who must “utilize the information to the fullest possible” for on-going activities.
