SB 354 (Speier), (ASM-Ins. Comm. Amended 6/3, Hearing 7/9) Amends Labor Code § 139.3, adds Labor Code § 4600.2 and amends numerous Ins. Code sections. Raises fine for knowingly making false/fraudulent statements to $100K. Ins. Code limits policy from covering more than 15 1hr Chiropractic visits unless “physician” (MD or DO) approves additional visits. Amendment includes out-patient surgical centers in the self-referral prohibition and clarifies that neither insured or self-insured employers are required to provide or be liable to provide more than 15 1hr Chiropractic visits unless “physician” (MD or DO) approves additional visits.

AB 1099 (Negrete McLeod), (SEN Labor & IR Comm.-Amended 4/22, Hearing 7/9) Amends Ins. Code §§ 1877.1 & 1877.3 to include EDD in agencies allowed to request and receive Workers' Compensation fraud information from insurers.
